Saugus High School Scroll
Our High School Journalism program printed a 16 to 20 page issue of the Scroll newspaper every month to a population of approximately 2400 students each year, free of charge. I held the positions of Sports Editor in the 2012-2013 year, Photo Editor in the 2013-2014 year, and Editor in Chief in the 2014-2015 year. The Scroll put out more papers than any other journalism program in the district, with a group of 40 writers and editors.

As Sports Editor for the Scroll, along with writing articles myself, I asigned, read and corrected every article in my section, as well as approved photos for each article. I then designed and layed out each page in my section in inDesign. I managed a team of five Writers, and worked to make our section coherent, relevant, and reliable.
As Photo Editor, I also wrote articles, and I took many of the photos for articles in every section of the paper. I further edited almost every photo selected to be printed in Photoshop, and designed and layed out the Fun & Games section of the paper each issue in inDesign. I also held several teaching sessions for other students for Photoshop and inDesign, both for the entire class and for individuals.
As Editor in Chief, I managed over 40 Writers and Editors to design, create, and print an entire issue of the paper each month. I ran the activities each day during the class period, and delegated tasks to the Editors for each issue. I also managed the financials for the program, talking to many of the local businesses to run ads in our paper for funding, and designing the ads that they wanted to run, as well as setting up various fundraisers with the school and with other businesses. I further worked with the printing company that physically printed each issue to ensure it was transferred smoothly each month, and managed the distribution of paper around the school in classrooms as well as around town.
